What You'll Do
As a Lead Teacher, you'll take ownership of your classroom and create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and develop.
You'll:
- Lead daily classroom activities and age-appropriate instruction
- Implement engaging lesson plans and learning activities
- Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families
- Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and school leadership
- Observe, document, and communicate children's development and progress
- Complete required child progress reports and classroom documentation
- Establish consistent classroom routines and age-appropriate expectations
- Respond to children's individual needs with patience and empathy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Work collaboratively with your teaching team and school leadership
- Implement COA's Mind and Body Matters curriculum
- Follow all health, safety, and state licensing requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an educator who is passionate, dependable, organized, and confident leading a classroom.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with required Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework/credits
- At least 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain as required
- Must meet applicable state childcare licensing requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs
- Commitment to providing high-quality care and education
- Passion for working with children and supporting their development

Final compensation is based on experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives and/or additional benefits.
