Location: Alpro - Kettering, NorthamptonshireSalary: £45,452 on completion of initial training period, plus shift allowance and an excellent range of benefits including pension, private healthcare, income protection and employee discounts.

We're currently looking for a Line Lead to join our Manufacturing team at our Kettering site. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a production area, leading performance, developing people and driving continuous improvement within our well-established Integrated Work System (Dan-IWS).

 

As a Line Lead, you'll work closely with a Process Lead and Maintenance Lead as part of a high-performing Line Trio, taking joint ownership for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people development within your area.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations within your production area, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality performance.
• Drive line performance through effective Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and short interval management.
• Coach and develop Operators to build capability, ownership and technical expertise.
• Lead problem-solving activities, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Take ownership of key IWS systems including Safety, Quality, CIL and Daily Management Systems.
• Monitor and improve performance measures including efficiency, waste, downtime and quality.
• Build a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and wider support functions to achieve business objectives.

About You

We're looking for a proactive and influential leader who can motivate others, drive performance and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

You will be highly organised, have strong communication skills and be confident leading teams, solving problems and managing priorities.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a leadership, supervisory or team management role.
• Strong coaching and people development skills.
• Experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• GCSEs (or equivalent).
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience leading performance improvement activities.
• Understanding of food safety, allergen controls and quality systems.
• Experience working within an Integrated Work System (IWS) environment.
