Description

MOS Code: 3051 (Marine Corps), 920A (Army), 33 (Coast Guard), 1515, 814A (Navy) 

Education and Experience:  A High School diploma or GED, or higher and three (3) years experience in warehousing or storekeeping.  Must pass stringent background investigation.
 
Licenses and Certificates:  Some positions may require a Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

Under general supervision, maintain custody and document evidence and found property.

Receive, store and dispose of impounded properties and evidence.  Involves:  Receive or pickup evidence in accordance with established procedures.  Maintain accurate records in computer database to document the receipt of evidence, mark, tag, protectively cover and store evidence and property in an orderly manner.  Ensure that seized or unclaimed property is release with proper documentation or dispose by destruction or auction.  Release property and evidence to designated personnel and return property to owners following prescribed procedures.  Dispose of property in prescribed manner. Make entry in computer database, prepare paperwork and transport property for disposal.  Transport biohazardous and other property materials for appropriate disposal.  May testify in count regarding the integrity of the evidence storage process including chain of custody.
 
Perform duties of coworkers as necessary to ensure continuity of operations during absences.  Complete reports and various forms as required, and maintain accurate records to document receipt and disposition of all property.  Perform housekeeping duties and maintain storage area for property control and security.
