Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled General Building Maintenance Worker to join
our team. You will be responsible for the overall upkeep, repair, and routine
maintenance of our building systems, interior/exterior fixtures, and physical structures.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in basic trade work (plumbing, electrical,
and carpentry) and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- General Repairs: Complete daily work orders and maintenance requests in a
timely manner, including Housekeeping / janitorial work, patching drywall,
painting, and other assignments by the maintenance manager. - Plumbing & Electrical: Fix minor plumbing leaks, unclog drains/toilets, replace
faulty switches, outlets, and light fixtures. - HVAC Maintenance: Perform basic preventive upkeep on heating and cooling
systems, such as cleaning vents and replacing air filters. - Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine facility inspections to identify wear-
and-tear and troubleshoot mechanical issues before they escalate. - Safety Compliance: Ensure clear emergency exits, inspect Fire extinguishers,
and comply with all safety codes and OSHA guidelines. - Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of completed work and
monitor repair supplies and tool inventory.
Qualifications and Requirements - Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience: Minimum [1–3] years of hands-on experience in general building
maintenance, handyman, or basic construction trades. - Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry,
and mechanical systems. - Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40–60 lbs., stand or walk for long periods,
climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions if needed. - Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication
skills. - License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
