The Opportunity

Manufacturing Quality Assurance work includes: Defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a manufactured material, component, or product. Building and maintaining the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products. Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards. Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency: Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area. Ensure the quality of incoming materials and components for Hitachi, Ltd. through inspection, testing, and documentation, contributing to overall product excellence and manufacturing efficiency.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies according to established specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) to verify product conformity.
  • Conduct basic testing procedures on incoming goods as required, documenting results accurately.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials, initiating proper disposition processes (e.g., rejection, return to vendor, MRB).
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, defect rates, and supplier performance.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of incoming inspection procedures and criteria.
  • Participate in supplier audits and evaluations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry standards.
  • Operate in a safe manner, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in quality control or incoming inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with various inspection and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators).
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to identify and document non-conformances clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
