Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator will operate, maintain, and transport heavy machinery across job sites for various construction and site development tasks. This is a fully onsite role, working in the field in partnership with construction crews, foremen, and project supervisors to support the successful completion of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks.Perform daily inspection and routine maintenance of equipment (checking oil, hydraulic fluid, tire pressure, etc.).Coordinate with the site supervisor or Foreman to know where machinery is needed and align with the project plan.Load, unload, and transport construction materials and supplies using appropriate machinery.Dig trenches, grade terrain, and perform landscaping or earth-moving tasks as needed.Follow blueprints, project plans, and site layouts to execute proper machinery work.Assist in site preparation, including clearing of debris and relocating materials.Report any mechanical issues or unsafe operating conditions immediately to maintenance or supervisory team.Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and operating within OSHA or company-mandated standards.Collaborate with other field team members to sequence tasks, minimize downtime, and ensure site progress is maintained.Document usage logs, equipment hours, incidents, and maintenance reports accurately. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment (minimum 2 years preferred).Valid operator certification or license where required.Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot machinery issues.Solid understanding of construction site procedures, surveying, and grade work.Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and layout drawings.Excellent hand–eye coordination and physical stamina; ability to work long hours, lift heavy materials, and operate in various weather conditions.Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with a diverse on-site crew.Commitment to safety, with a track record of operating machines safely and responsibly.Reliable transportation to and from job sites, plus flexibility to travel between sites.Pass safety training, background checks, and drug screening as required. Work Environment & ConditionsPosition is onsite at various construction locations, often outdoors, with exposure to weather and rugged terrain.May require early shift starts, overtime, weekends, or irregular hours depending on project demands.Equipment-heavy environment, with requirement to wear proper PPE (hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety vest, etc.).Work is physically demanding and may involve long periods of operation or standby duty. Why Work at Outlast LLC?Be part of a team that values quality work, safety, and integrity.Opportunity to operate a variety of heavy equipment on diverse construction projects.Growth potential into supervisory, site management, or maintenance roles.Contribute directly to building structures and infrastructure that matter.
