About the Role

Reporting to Country Director Greece, the Head of Customer Marketing leads the translation of brand and commercial strategy into compelling customer, channel, and shopper activation plans that drive sustainable growth. This role will work closely with the marketing and sales teams, ensuring that brand strategies are converted into winning propositions for customers—including retailers, wholesalers, e-commerce platforms, and on-trade outlets—and ultimately into strong consumer experiences at the point of purchase and consumption.

Top Accountabilities

• Commercial & Brand Activation: Translate brand strategies into commercially relevant activation platforms
• Customer Proposition Development: Partner with Sales/Key Account teams to create compelling, insight-led customer propositions. Bring together category, shopper, brand, and commercial insights to strengthen joint business planning with strategic customers. Support major customer presentations and commercial negotiations with differentiated growth stories
• Execution Excellence: Define execution standards by channel and customer, including assortment, visibility, activation, promotional mechanics, and point-of-sale materials. Establish processes and scorecards to measure execution quality and work with field sales teams to close execution gaps
• Planning & Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead the customer marketing contribution to the annual commercial planning cycle
• A&P budget responsibility. Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Revenue Growth Management to ensure activation and promotional investments generate appropriate returns. Establish clear KPIs and post-evaluation disciplines for customer marketing investment. Challenge low-return activities and redirect resources toward scalable growth opportunities.
• Advocacy: Ensure Diageo World Class and broader advocacy programs translate into tangible commercial outcomes by strengthening relationships with Bar community, increasing brand recommendation and cocktail/menu presence, creating premium consumer experiences, and supporting distribution and rate of sale across key venues.
• Team Leadership: Coaching a team of 4, building the best customer marketing team in the market

About You

• 10+ years of significant experience in customer marketing and commercial roles within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry.
• You should demonstrate strong customer orientation, strategic thinking, shopper and category understanding, financial literacy, activation excellence, influencing skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization.
• Validated ability to manage sophisticated projects (you have worked with marketing, commercial, shopper marketing, merchandising teams, and agencies).
• Ability to excel in managing ambiguity, complexity, and working in a fast-paced environment.
• You are curious and entrepreneurial.
• You are recognized for your ability to build sustainable relationships with internal and external partners.
• You are comfortable with numbers; strong financial and analytical skills are vital.
• You have excellent attention to detail.
• Recognized leadership skills: you have experience managing teams and coaching them to develop their full potential.
• You have international experience (across multiple countries/ geographies/ cultures).
• Proficiency in English and Greek
