We are seeking a talented individual to join our GSD team, part of our People and Investments Business at Marsh. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The GSD team plays an important role in supporting high-quality actuarial work across a range of technical and client-facing needs. In this senior position, you will focus on the review and validation of actuarial valuations, with a particular emphasis on Portugal Valuations. You will work closely with consultant, senior and junior actuary colleagues and GSD leadership to help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of technical outputs, contributing directly to the quality and credibility of the team’s delivery.
We will count on you to:
- Review and validate actuarial valuations, with a focus on Portuguese pension schemes and insurance-related work.
- Perform peer reviews of actuarial assessments and technical outputs.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of valuation calculations and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to support delivery and technical review.
- Manage timelines, priorities, and technical workload in line with business needs.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of technical standards and best practice within the team.
What you need to have:
- More than 8 years of experience in technical life actuarial roles.
- Strong actuarial background with experience in actuarial valuation work.
- Previous experience in the Portuguese insurance and pension schemes market.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Professional level of English, both written and spoken.
What makes you stand out?
- Experience acting as, or working closely with, a signing actuary / responsible actuary.
- Experience in peer reviewing actuarial valuations work for Portuguese Pension schemes.
- IFoA exams or equivalent actuarial certifications.
