JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client and family centered care model and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, performs a variety of clerical and reception duties. Answers telephone inquiries, takes messages or directs callers to the appropriate person, greets and checks in clients and confirms client appointments. Word processes a variety of material such as correspondence and progress reports utilizing word processing or spreadsheet software, enters client information into database, scores client questionnaires according to established procedures, transcribes administrative and clinical correspondence, and collates statistical information. Maintains client charts as per established procedures, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, and engages in on-going team planning and quality improvement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, plus two (2) years’ recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge & AbilitiesKnowledge of general office procedures.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.Ability to type 50 wpm.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to deal effectively with others.Ability to compose business correspondence.Ability to organize and prioritize workload.Basic computer literacy to operate computerized client care information system and word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet and e-mail software.Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
