Description
CULTIVATE A BETTER WORLD
Food served fast does not have to be a typical fast-food experience. Chipotle has always done things differently, both in and out of our restaurants. We are changing the face of fast food, starting conversations, and directly supporting efforts to shift the future of farming and food. We hope you will join us as we continue to learn, evolve, and shape what comes next on our mission to make better food accessible to everyone.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Senior Manager, Planning, you will build and lead Chipotle's integrated planning capability across demand planning, supply and capacity planning, Sales & Operations Planning/Integrated Business Planning (S&OP/IBP), and Limited Time Offer (LTO) program management. You will establish the team, governance, and operating cadence that connect business demand to executable supply, inventory, and capacity plans. Working across Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Operations, Commercial, Marketing, and suppliers, you will influence decisions, manage risk, improve product availability, and embed the planning disciplines needed to support growth.
LOCATION
This hybrid position will be based in our Newport Beach, CA office 4 days per week (with work from home on Friday). Remote work is not available for this role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build, structure, and develop a high-performing planning team across demand, supply and capacity planning, S&OP/IBP, and LTO program management; clarify roles, establish standard work, and create development paths as the capability grows.
- Own and continuously improve the end-to-end integrated planning operating model, including governance, calendar, decision rights, inputs, outputs, and performance measures.
- Lead the recurring S&OP/IBP cycle, including demand review, supply review, reconciliation, and leadership review, to align operational plans with business priorities and financial objectives.
- Drive a single, cross-functional demand plan for the base business and LTOs, strengthening forecast assumptions, accuracy, bias, visibility, and accountability.
- Translate demand into executable supply, capacity, inventory, and contingency plans that balance service and risk, while providing clear guidance to Procurement on supplier-capacity requirements and to Logistics on inventory-level expectations.
- Lead LTO program management from planning through launch, exit, and post-launch evaluation, including milestones, demand and supply readiness, capacity, inventory, risks, and issue resolution.
- Influence partners across Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Operations, Commercial, Marketing, and suppliers; challenge assumptions, frame trade-offs, and drive timely decisions without direct authority.
- Develop scenarios, recommendations, and decision-ready materials for leadership, and serve as the escalation point for planning risks or constraints requiring cross-functional resolution.
- Partner with Logistics and Procurement to improve service, optimize inventory, ensure supply continuity, and standardize processes.
- Establish planning KPIs, reporting, and analytics for forecast performance, supply and capacity, inventory, service, and LTO readiness.
- Serve as the planning business owner; partner with Supply Chain Tech & Process on business requirements, priorities, testing, implementation, and user adoption.
- Lead change and continuous improvement across planning processes, building stakeholder commitment and embedding sustainable new ways of working.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members while providing clear performance feedback, development planning, and growth opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, with meaningful depth across demand planning, supply or capacity planning, and S&OP/IBP.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience, with demonstrated success building, structuring, or scaling a team and developing talent.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, owning, or materially improving an S&OP/IBP process, including cross-functional reviews, executive decision forums, and alignment with Finance.
- Strong expertise in demand planning and forecasting, supply and capacity planning, inventory management, raw material planning, and scenario analysis.
- Experience leading complex LTO, commercialization, innovation, or launch programs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven change-leadership and influence capabilities, with the ability to gain commitment, challenge constructively, and drive accountability across functions without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and work through ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Strong executive presence, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience with planning and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle/Demantra, JDA, Logility, or similar tools; advanced Excel and reporting skills preferred.
- APICS, Six Sigma, or another relevant professional certification preferred.
