Section Leader Product Documentation + Test Equipment

Role Purposes:

  • Provide overall leadership for the Production Documentation (PD) Section leader and lead the Test Equipment Engineering Team;

  • Develop the PD team from a documentation-focused function toward an integrated Industrial Engineering (IE) support role, ensuring complete and accurate product and manufacturing data and driving product and process improvements;

  • Develop Test Engineers into recognized technical experts in test systems, test adapters, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and continuous improvement;

  • Drive both teams to achieve departmental targets, support the MX Roadmap and strategic projects, and contribute to the MX Department’s journey toward world-class performance;

  • Clearly communicate strategies and directions cascaded from the Technology and Operations Management Division;

Major Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Production Documentation and Test Equipment teams, providing leadership and technical guidance to address product, documentation, test equipment and service-related questions and issues;

  • Define and implement the teams’ strategy, role clarity and competency roadmap, including development of the Product Documentation team’s IE capabilities and the Test Engineers’ expert-level technical capabilities;

  • Plan and manage resources, workload, priorities, succession and competence development for both teams, including sourcing and organizing external services where required;

  • Ensure product and manufacturing data and related documentation are complete, accurate, controlled and maintained throughout the product lifecycle;

  • Lead and support NPI, ECN implementation, product troubleshooting, product cost management and product/process improvement activities within the Product Documentation and IE scope;

  • Ensure lean and efficient maintenance and calibration of released manufacturing test systems and test adapters to achieve excellent availability, reliability and compliance;

  • Analyze Quality of Service, resource needs and operational demand to plan support for planned and unplanned activities, including troubleshooting and corrective actions;

  • Establish and maintain guidelines, procedures, service standards and interfaces for Product Documentation and Test Equipment services, aligned with SEA counterparts and agreed SLAs;

  • Review and approve documents, technical standards and work results created by the Product Documentation and Test Equipment teams;

  • Drive systematic problem solving and continuous improvement to reduce recurring issues and improve product yield, test performance, equipment reliability, productivity, cost and lead time;

  • Follow up day-to-day activities and performance indicators to ensure goals, objectives and committed deliverables are achieved;

  • Assign, direct and evaluate employees’ work; coach team members and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence;

  • Manage budgets and resources responsibly, including test equipment maintenance, calibration, replacement, materials and services, ensuring a positive cost-benefit ratio;

  • Act as the key contact for TPU, Production, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Controlling, Business Units and external service providers on Product Documentation and Test Equipment topics;

  • Participate in MX Roadmap planning and execute other tasks and strategic projects aligned and agreed with the superior;

  • Lead both teams to provide services to TPU at the agreed cost, quality and lead time in accordance with applicable SLAs;

Role Requirements:

  • From Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanics or Industrial Engineering;

  • Business fluent or native-language English and Vietnamese (written and spoken);

  • Over 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, in which minimum 3 years of experience as a people leader, preferably leading multidisciplinary engineering teams;

  • Applied resource, budget, vendor and service management experience;

  • Proven application of analytical problem solving and continuous improvement methods;

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach and guide engineers toward expanded IE responsibilities and technical expert roles;

  • Project Management, New Product Introduction (NPI), ECN implementation and product lifecycle documentation;

  • Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing and process optimization methods;

  • Strategic budget planning and creation;

  • Product data, ERP systems, manufacturing order management and Microsoft applications;

  • Statistical data analysis and quality tools, test system and test adapter maintenance, calibration and availability management;

  • Product failure debugging, including PCBA-level debugging;

  • Programming languages and development environments such as C++, C#, Visual Studio and .NET;

  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA), GR&R and Process Capability Analysis (Cpk);
