As an Flex Security Agent, you will support a uniquely assigned client program under the direction of Surefox Regional Account Manager(s). You will serve as an on-site liaison between Surefox and the client while supporting daily security operations, emergency preparedness, incident coordination, and professional guest interactions.
Flex Security Agents provide staffing support during scheduled openings, employee absences, call-offs, vacations, special projects, increased operational needs, emergencies, and client-requested assignments. Because assignments may vary, agents must be adaptable, dependable, and capable of learning different post orders, security procedures, technologies, and client expectations.
The Flex Security Agent is responsible for responding to emergency events, medical and non-medical situations, staffing deficiencies, security concerns, and client requests in a timely and organized manner. When required, you will initiate preliminary fact-finding, gather relevant information, preserve observations, and prepare clear and accurate incident reports concerning client or company matters.
Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional observational skills, strong situational awareness, professional communication, and close attention to detail. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Surefox policies, client procedures, post orders, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

What you will do:
● Act as an Incident Commander for emergencies and response
● Attend project meetings upon request to assess the security implications of proposed changes
● Coordinate the initial response to medical emergencies, fires, evacuations, suspicious activity, threats, and other critical incidents
● Complete documented closing procedures, including public closure, safety sweeps, equipment return, alarm activation, and confirmation with GSOC
● Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, KPI submissions, and other required documentation accurately and on time
● Create, issue, activate, modify, deactivate, recover, and document employee, visitor, vendor, contractor, and temporary badges.
● Develop relationships with clients, facilitate collaboration, and have the ability to influence informally across different departments within the team
● Document CCTV observations, alarm activity, security-system issues, and actions taken in the Daily Activity Report or applicable incident report
● Immediately report camera outages, access-control failures, alarm malfunctions, or other security-technology issues to Surefox ISOC, the Field Supervisor, and the designated client contact
● Follow all Surefox policies, client requirements, post orders, emergency procedures, and applicable California BSIS standards
● Maintain accountability, communication, and scene awareness during incidents until relieved by external public-safety personnel
● Maintain clean, professional, and brand-appropriate grooming and appearance throughout every shift
● Maintain control of the assigned post while monitoring public, restricted, and operational areas
● Monitor entrances, lobbies, stairwells, access-controlled doors, restricted areas, and other assigned locations
● Monitor CCTV cameras, video-management systems, alarms, and other security platforms for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, safety concerns, and operational irregularities
● Participate in after-action reviews and recommend improvements to site readiness, procedures, training, and security operations
● Provide professional access control and deliver warm, brand-appropriate service to visitors, employees, vendors, and business partners
● Report to work punctually and complete documented opening procedures, including key retrieval, GSOC notification, alarm disarming, safety inspections, equipment issuance, and preparing the site for daily operations
● Watch for unusual activity and respond immediately and safely to emergency situations on site
● Work independently and adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high level of attentiveness and energy
● Verify employee, visitor, vendor, contractor, and temporary-worker access using approved credentials and client procedures
● Use professional communication, verbal de-escalation, and appropriate disengagement techniques to address challenging situations
How you will operate:
This is an unarmed role in low-rise building. You will perform all responsibilities within your training, authority, assigned post orders, client procedures, Surefox policies, and applicable California BSIS requirements.
While performing this role, you must be able to:
● Maintain a visible, alert, professional, and customer-focused presence throughout your shift
● Use professional presence, situational awareness, access control, CCTV monitoring, verbal de-escalation, disengagement, accurate reporting, and timely escalation as your primary security tools
● Verify authorization before issuing credentials or granting access to controlled areas
● Operate badging, access-control, CCTV, alarm-monitoring, and reporting systems only for authorized business purposes
● Protect access records, credentials, security-system information, video footage, and personally identifiable information from unauthorized access or disclosure
● Monitor security systems proactively and immediately report suspicious activity, system failures, unauthorized access, or safety concerns
● Communicate clearly and professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, client representatives, Surefox leadership, and emergency responders
● Follow the established chain of command while using sound judgment to escalate urgent threats immediately
● Use calm, respectful verbal de-escalation and maintain a safe distance when addressing disruptive, aggressive, or unauthorized individuals
● Avoid physical confrontation whenever safe disengagement and assistance from supervisors, ISOC, or emergency services are reasonably available
● Prioritize life safety during emergencies by contacting 911 when appropriate, followed by Surefox ISOC, your supervisor, and the designated client representative
● Document activities, incidents, system issues, notifications, and actions taken in a factual, objective, chronological, and timely manner
● Adapt quickly to different assignments, schedules, post orders, supervisors, and operational environments while maintaining consistent Surefox standards
What is required:
● Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional during emergencies
● Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds with excellent customer-service skills
● Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods and conduct interior and exterior patrols
● Ability to operate radios, mobile applications, alarm panels, access-control systems, and other basic security technology
● Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
● Ability to work independently and as a team member
● Availability to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and approved overtime when operationally required
● Clear and professional written communication, including activity and incident reporting
● Commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and client privacy
● Current California BSIS Guard Registration Card, carried while on duty
● Current CPR and First Aid/AED certification, carried while on duty
● Experience monitoring CCTV cameras, video-management systems, alarms, and other security platforms
● Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening (Surefox will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all requirements of State and local laws, regulations or codes)
● Must be eligible for employment within the United States
● Must have a high school degree or equivalent
● Must live within driving distance or be willing to relocate
● Previous experience in security, concierge security, hospitality, customer service, the military, or law enforcement
● Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time consistently
● Strong situational awareness, verbal de-escalation, and sound judgment
What is preferred:
● Experience in high-profile, hospitality-focused, or brand-forward environment
● Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, mobile reporting applications, and electronic incident-management systems.
● Experience with visitor-management platforms and employee onboarding and offboarding processes
● Advanced experience operating electronic badging, access-control, CCTV, video-management, and alarm-monitoring systems
● Experience conducting credential audits, reviewing recorded video, and preserving video evidence documentation
● Knowledge of downtown San Francisco operating conditions, including protests, property crime, transient activity, and seismic risks
● FEMA ICS or NIMS training, including ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-905, IS-906, IS-907, IS-912
● Prior incident commander, supervisory, GSOC, or emergency-response experience
