We are looking for a Recreation and Well-Being Lead to join our team and take the lead in creating a varied programme of activities, entertainment and experiences that support the physical, mental and emotional well-being of our residents.

About the role

As our Recreation and Well-Being Lead, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating a programme of activities that reflects the individual interests, abilities, life experiences and choices of our residents.

You will:

• Plan and coordinate a varied timetable of meaningful activities, events and outings.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that interest them, while respecting individual choice and ability.
• Work with residents and their relatives to gather life story information and use this to create person-centred activity plans.
• Organise entertainment, outings, celebrations and special events in partnership with the Home Manager.
• Encourage a whole-home approach, involving care, housekeeping, kitchen and other teams in activities wherever possible.
• Build positive relationships with local community groups and organisations to support resident inclusion and well-being.
• Manage the activities budget responsibly and ensure the home is well stocked with appropriate recreation equipment.
• Lead, support and develop the Recreation and Well-Being Team, including rotas, regular supervisions and annual appraisals.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' activities and social and well-being care plans.
• Ensure photographs and other activity information are recorded in line with Nellsar's GDPR and consent procedures.

  Previous experience in activities, recreation, well-being, care, hospitality, community work or a similar role would be beneficial, but we are particularly interested in finding someone with the right personality, creativity and passion for making a difference
