Hours: Monday to Friday, double-day shifts
Shift Pattern: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00

Salary £15-17ph DOE

 

Experienced Machine Minder / Supervisor Wanted

An established packaging and manufacturing business in Wellingborough is looking for a Tray Former Minder / Supervisor to join its skilled production and converting team.

This is a specialist role, so candidates with direct Tray Former experience may be limited, and full training will be provided on the Tray Former machinery.  The key requirements are previous machine-minding or machine-operating experience combined with supervisory or team leadership experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a manufacturing, production, printing, packaging or converting background who is looking to develop their technical skills while taking responsibility for a production team.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Operating and learning to operate Tray Former machinery.
• Supervising and supporting the production team.
• Ensuring production schedules are completed on time and to customer specification.
• Monitoring the quality of finished packaging.
• Managing staffing levels and allocating work across the team.
• Supporting colleagues with day-to-day production requirements.
• Assisting with trials for new packaging projects.
• Completing production and traceability documentation.
• Ensuring daily machinery maintenance and department routines are completed.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health and safety.
• Identifying and resolving production issues.
• Working closely with management to achieve production targets.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous machine-minding or machine-operating experience.
• Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, production, packaging, printing, converting or a similar environment.
• A practical, hands-on approach.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and team-working skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• The ability to organise and support a production team.
• A strong focus on quality, safety and meeting deadlines.
• A willingness to learn new machinery and develop technical skills.

The business will provide full training on the machinery, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Machine Minder or Supervisor to develop into a specialist packaging role.

Experience with other production, converting or finishing machinery would be advantageous.
