Global Program Manager, ITO

Job Description Summary

The Global Program Manager, ITO is responsible for leading strategic, cross-functional transformation programs across the Infrastructure & Technology Operations portfolio. The role serves as a key member of the Strategic Program Office, partnering with technology leaders, service owners, architecture teams, vendors and business stakeholders to drive successful planning and execution of large-scale initiatives.
The position provides end-to-end program leadership, portfolio governance, executive reporting, financial oversight, dependency management and risk management for strategic initiatives spanning Cloud, Data Center, Hosting, Connectivity, Workplace and Technology Operations. The role ensures alignment of program outcomes with Sandoz Technology strategy and delivery objectives while driving value realization across the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to

Strategic Program Leadership

• Lead and coordinate complex global transformation programs across Infrastructure & Technology Operations.
• Establish program vision, charter, governance model, roadmap, milestones and success criteria.
• Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
• Drive alignment between technology strategy, operational priorities and business outcomes.
• Facilitate executive decision-making and strategic planning activities.

Portfolio Governance & Execution

• Support development and governance of the Infrastructure & Technology Operations strategic portfolio.
• Define and implement consistent program management standards, controls and reporting mechanisms.
• Monitor delivery performance across multiple workstreams and initiatives.
• Drive portfolio reviews, steering committees and executive governance forums.
• Provide consolidated portfolio visibility and decision support to senior technology leadership.

Cross Functional Delivery Management

• Coordinate activities across AMS, Cloud & Hosting Services, Data Center Services, Connectivity, Digital Workplace, Technology Operations and Shared Technology Functions.
• Manage interdependencies between strategic initiatives and operational priorities.
• Drive issue resolution and escalation management across internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate alignment between service owners, engineering teams, vendors and business partners.

Financial & Benefits Management

• Manage program budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Ensure effective resource planning and capacity management.
• Track and report realization of business benefits, operational improvements and strategic objectives.
• Support investment prioritization and portfolio optimization activities.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Identify, assess and proactively mitigate program risks.
• Ensure compliance with Technology governance standards, controls and delivery frameworks.
• Maintain oversight of dependencies, assumptions, issues and change requests.
• Support audit, compliance and quality review activities where required.

Stakeholder Management

• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Technology and business functions.
• Influence decision-making across organizational boundaries.
• Develop compelling executive communications, presentations and status reporting.
• Serve as a key liaison between Technology leadership, business partners and external vendors.

What you’ll bring to the role:

​Essential Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Program Management, Portfolio Management or Strategic Technology Delivery.
• Proven experience leading large-scale global transformation programs.
• Demonstrated experience working across AMS, infrastructure, cloud or enterprise technology domains.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and executive governance forums.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams and vendor ecosystems.
• Experience within Life Sciences, Healthcare or other regulated industries.
• Experience working in matrix organizations with global delivery teams.
• Experience with portfolio management platforms.

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• PgMP (Program Management Professional)
• MSP (Managing Successful Programmes)
• PRINCE2 Practitioner
• ITIL Foundation or higher
• Agile / SAFe certifications
