 Project Engineer  - Dubai Cargo

Job Description 

Based in our Dubai office, you will support multiple concurrent cargo and aviation-related projects across our Middle East portfolio, engaging directly with clients, contractors, and design teams on some of the industry’s most complex air cargo and terminal facilities. This role offers a clear path toward managing multiple concurrent projects, along with opportunities to travel and grow professionally.  

Job Responsibilities 

As a Project Engineer supporting our cargo and aviation practice, your responsibilities may include: 

• Drafting technical reports, capacity/gap analyses, and study documentation for cargo and  aviation terminal projects. 
• Developing presentations and workshop materials for client and stakeholder meetings. 
• Preparing meeting minutes and tracking action items. 
• Supporting proposal development, including scope of narratives, fee estimates, and qualifications of packages. 
• Reviewing contractor and vendor submittals for compliance with project specifications and design intent. 
• Maintaining project trackers, schedules, and status logs across multiple concurrent projects. 
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and client teams, and helping resolve project issues and bottlenecks. 
• Reviewing drawings and technical documents and assisting with technical studies and cost estimates for cargo terminal operations and material handling systems. 

BNP will support you with state-of-the-art technology and in-house software developed for our niche industry.  

Qualifications 

The qualifications below reflect our ideal candidate. We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement, as many of our engineers bring a range of backgrounds and experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering, aviation management, airport planning, or a related field. 
• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar project engineering/coordination role, with an interest in growing into a role managing multiple concurrent projects. 
• Cargo industry or air cargo terminal experience preferred; candidates with strong initiative and a willingness to learn will also be considered. 
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, well-organized reports, proposals, and presentations. 
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.). 
• Ability to multitask across multiple concurrent project assignments and deadlines. 
• Experience with contractor or vendor submittal reviews and construction administration is a plus. 
• Flexibility to travel occasionally to project sites and client offices. 

Working Conditions 

• This is a full-time position based in our Dubai, UAE office. The role requires occasional travel to airports and client/contractor sites for project meetings and coordination.  
• The successful candidate must pass applicable background checks and screening, which may include drug screening, to obtain airport security badges. 
• Standard 40-hour work week with occasional additional time required to meet deadlines.
