Start your career in the global shipping industry - Apply for the Wilhelmsen Summer Internship 2027
Location: Lysaker
Are you looking for a summer job within the shipping industry? Work with us on an interdisciplinary project where you will dig into exciting challenges, learn new skills and come up with ideas that can directly impact our business and the future of the maritime sector.
Who is Wilhelmsen?
Founded in Norway in 1861, Wilhelmsen is a global maritime group providing products and services to the merchant fleet, along with supplying crew and technical management. With the world’s largest maritime network on call 24/7, our people can deliver products and services all over the world. We are committed to shaping the maritime industry and seek to develop new opportunities and collaborations in renewables, zero-emission shipping, and marine digitalization.
What will you do?
You will apply your expertise and skills to solve a real-world problem in one of our business units. Recent summer projects have included cost-benefit analysis and case studies for autonomous shipping, mapping synergies between ventures and core business units, and developing a roadmap for decarbonizing our global supply chain. Your role will involve working in a team to analyze data, develop strategies, and present findings to key stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking analytical and creative individuals who enjoy teamwork and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Applications are encouraged by students across disciplines such as engineering, data science, economics, and business, with a strong interest in shipping, sustainability, and business development. Students expected to graduate in 2028 will be prioritized.
Why should you apply?
You will gain insight into a leading maritime organization with connections and interests spanning the globe. The internship will offer you the chance to develop your skills, gain industry experience, and make meaningful contributions that could influence our business's future direction. The internship serves as a gateway into a career in the maritime industry with many previous interns successfully transitioning into graduate roles after completing their studies.
The project will span six weeks, with work taking place during weeks 24-26 and 30-32, separated by a three-week vacation. The work location will be our head office at Lysaker, Oslo. You need to have a valid work permit in Norway for the duration of the internship.
Application deadline: 25 October.
