Plastic Surgery Specialist – Lymphedema & Lipedema Management - Abu Dhabi

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Plastic Surgery Specialist to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi, with a particular focus on the assessment and management of lymphedema and lipedema. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultation, develop individualized treatment plans, perform appropriate surgical and non-surgical interventions, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with lymphedema, lipedema, and related lymphatic disorders.Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.Provide conservative and surgical treatment options based on patient needs and clinical indications.Perform relevant plastic and reconstructive procedures, including lymphatic and soft-tissue procedures where appropriately trained and credentialed.Evaluate patients for procedures such as liposuction/debulking for lipedema or lymphedema, where clinically appropriate.Provide pre-operative counselling, informed consent, and post-operative follow-up.Monitor treatment outcomes and manage potential complications.Collaborate with vascular surgeons, physiotherapists, lymphatic therapists, nutritionists, radiologists, and other relevant specialists.Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.Stay current with advances in lymphatic surgery, lipedema management, microsurgery, and reconstructive plastic surgery.Participate in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities.RequirementsMedical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Plastic Surgery.Valid eligibility/licensure to practice as a Plastic Surgery Specialist in Abu Dhabi/UAE, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.Proven clinical experience in lymphedema and/or lipedema management.Strong experience in plastic, reconstructive, and/or lymphatic surgery.Microsurgical or lymphatic surgery experience is highly desirable.Experience managing complex post-operative and chronic swelling conditions is an advantage.Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and patient-counselling skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and ethical medical care.Fluency in English; Arabic or other languages would be an advantage.Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in one or more of the following will be particularly relevant:Lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA)Vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT)Lymphedema liposuction/debulkingLipedema surgical managementMicrosurgery and reconstructive proceduresComplex soft-tissue reconstructionPost-cancer or post-surgical lymphedemaMultidisciplinary lymphatic rehabilitationWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation packageProfessional and supportive clinical environmentOpportunity to develop a specialized lymphedema and lipedema serviceMultidisciplinary collaborationContinuing professional development opportunitiesModern clinical facilities in Abu DhabiTo apply: Please submit your updated CV, relevant qualifications, professional license/eligibility details, and a summary of your experience in lymphedema and lipedema management.
