ETO Design Engineer

## What you’ll do:

The ETO (Engineered-to-Order) Design Engineer develops and delivers customer-specific product solutions that meet technical, commercial, and manufacturing requirements. This role supports the complete engineering lifecycle, from concept development and design through manufacturing release and customer approval. The position collaborates closely with customers, operations, sourcing, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely execution of customized solutions while maintaining quality, compliance, and cost objectives.

• Design and develop Engineered-to-Order (ETO) product solutions based on customer, market, and business requirements.
• Create and maintain project plans, engineering documentation, and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Generate manufacturing documentation including assembly drawings, electrical schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), product specifications, and installation documentation.
• Evaluate customer requirements and product specifications to develop manufacturable and cost-effective design solutions using existing and modified components.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, sourcing, operations, suppliers, and customer service teams to meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
• Provide engineering support during manufacturing, testing, installation, and post-release activities for custom product orders.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal engineering processes.
• Lead technical aspects of assigned projects, manage engineering deliverables, and communicate project status to stakeholders.

## Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, power distribution, controls, or ETO environment.
• Experience using 2D CAD and 3D modeling tools to create engineering drawings and product documentation.
• Working knowledge of ERP and/or PLM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).

• Experience with SAP ERP, SAP-PLM/Cideon, Enovia, or similar PLM platforms.

• Knowledge of UL, NEMA, NEC, CSA, or ATEX standards and experience supporting certified products.

• Experience with electrical enclosure design, industrial controls, circuit protection, and manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, stamping, casting, or machining.
