Senior Mechanical Engineer

## What you’ll do:

• Lead or participate in the design, development, testing, completion and launch of new products and extensions to existing ACB and MCCB product lines; collaborate with other CPC project teams on material application and sourcing activities from the R&D perspective.
• Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to coach and support junior engineers in developing mechanical engineering capability and product knowledge; lead or participate in requirements analysis, design reviews and other team development activities.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and materials, and use engineering software tools to design and analyze product integrity in support of efficient product development.
• Lead or participate in the review of product requirement specifications based on input from marketing and customers;
• Generate product requirement specifications from Voice of Customer (VOC) input when required;
• Design and develop new and innovative products in accordance with product specifications;
• Lead or participate in new product testing in accordance with applicable standards and customer requirements, and complete the required technical documentation;
• Support the launch of new products and product line extensions through the stage-gate process, such as PROLaunch;
• Investigate and evaluate new materials and their appropriate application within the product line;
• Apply knowledge of materials, with emphasis on plastic injection molding and metal stamping;
• Conduct or support computer-based FEA and FMEA for new products, and use the results to improve product designs;
• Provide technical support to the industrialization team during production line setup;
• Lead or participate in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to existing products;
• Lead or participate in reviews of new product concepts and technology development trends;
• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams;
• Perform other duties as assigned;

## Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; master's degree preferred;
• 5 or more years of experience in new product development within the low-voltage electromechanical field, preferably involving ACB and/or MCCB products;

• Strong experience in component design and material selection, including metals, non-ferrous materials and engineering plastics;
• Solid experience in the design and development of low-voltage circuit breaker products, especially ACB and/or MCCB products;
• Experience participating in or leading key new product development projects from concept through launch;
• Ability to take technical ownership of assigned workstreams, provide technical guidance and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Good understanding of low-voltage markets, especially data center and renewable energy applications;
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and constantly changing customer and market environment;
• Proficient in Pro-E, Creo, AutoCAD or other mechanical design tools;
• Solid understanding of low-voltage applications and the ability to support the resolution of complex customer issues;
• Good understanding of relevant manufacturing processes, including welding/brazing, heat treatment, plastic injection molding and metal stamping;
• Strong experience in metal and molded plastic component design, with good knowledge of material properties and applications;
• Ability to apply product development and process improvement methodologies, including stage-gate processes, PROLaunch and DFSS tools;
• Familiarity with electrical and dynamic simulation, with the ability to provide technical recommendations and input;
• Familiarity with environmental requirements and related qualification testing;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision;
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills;
• Willingness to coach and support junior engineers;
• Good command of written and spoken English;
