Substitute Teachers - Guitar, Piano, Voice and Drums

About the Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking fun, experienced, and professional guitar, voice, piano and drum instructors to teach part-time at Music House School of Music, which has three locations in Prairie Village, Overland Park and Lenexa, KS. Teachers are not required to teach at all three locations, but preference will be given to those who can teach at multiple. We are looking for teachers who will instruct in-person. Primary teaching hours are M-Th 3-9pm and Fridays 3-7pm.

Substitute teachers will be contacted when there is a deficit in a main teacher's schedule but consistency is appreciated by both students and school staff, and preference will be given to candidates with greater availability.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in music education or performance is preferred.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience. Group teaching experience a plus.
• Performance experience in both an individual and ensemble setting.
• Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking and listening).
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient using technology including but not limited to computers, mobile devices, internet browsers, and various online applications.
• Appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check.

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $24-$28/hour. Health benefits options and a 401K with employer match are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble after 30 days of employment.

This posting is for Music House School of Music, our Lenexa, Prairie Village and Overland Park, KS locations. Music House teachers are members of a team of over 25 teachers and 10 administrators who work collectively toward the development of a strong organization. With three locations and around 700 weekly students, this approach has served us well. However, our team-focused communal environment can seem very different for anyone with prior experience independently teaching private lessons. Music House is a place of growth, collaboration, and constant change.
