We’re looking for a collaborative, results-driven program Mechanical Engineer who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You bring strong planning, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage schedules, budgets, risks, and technical deliverables while keeping cross-functional teams aligned. You’re proactive, organized, and comfortable working with both internal teams and customers to solve challenges and drive programs to successful completion. 

What You Will Do 

  • Lead project planning and execution, including the development and management of Integrated Master Schedules, detailed program plans, and key project milestones.  

  • Manage program budgets and performancethrough the Collins Earned Value Management System (EVMS), ensuring effective cost and schedule control. 

  • Coordinate Systems Integration activitiesacross development, qualification, and documentation to ensure high-quality andtimelydeliverables. 

  • Drive change and risk management,identifyingpotential challenges early, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing recovery plans when necessary.  

  • Lead program status meetings, partnering with technical leads and project teams to monitor progress, address issues, and maintain alignment on priorities.  

  • Collaborate across functional organizationsto resolve complex issues and keep projects moving forward in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholdersto communicate program status, manage expectations, and support overall customer satisfaction. 

  • Apply strong problem-solving and communication skillsto navigate complex technical and programmatic challenges and drive projects to successful completion.  

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience 

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Experience developing and managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project. 

  • Experience supporting Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) to monitor program budgets, costs, and schedule performance. 

  • Experience applying Change Management and Risk Management tools, processes, and best practices. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical leads, cross-functional stakeholders, customers, and external partners. 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise program updates and effectively lead status meetings. 

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify project challenges, assess impacts, and drive effective solutions.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
