Indmar Marine Engines is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance team in Millington, TN. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for a motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is eager to grow their accounting career. This full-time position offers a starting rate of $19.00 - $22.00/hour depending upon experience. Work hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday. Eligible for a $40 weekly attendance bonus. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and a retirement savings plan with a company match.
Candidates must have a vaild driver's license and reliable transportation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for accurately and efficiently processing invoices and payments to vendors, ensuring proper coding, approval, and 3-way matching prior to payment. This position maintains a clean accounts payable aging report, supports on-time and accurate payment processing, and works closely with Purchasing and Receiving in a manufacturing/production environment to resolve discrepancies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Accurately code and enter vendor invoices into the ERP system in a timely manner.
- Apply strong understanding of 3-way matching (P.O., receipt & invoice) to verify invoices prior to payment.
- Catch and resolve discrepancies before payment through strong attention to detail.
- Prepare and process payments via check, wire and ACH, using the AP and payments portal within the ERP system.
- Consistently process on-time payments with minimal errors or rework.
- Maintain a clean AP aging report with minimal past-due invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage payment timing to optimize the company's cash position.
- Support continuous improvement of invoice entry turnaround time and accuracy.
- Support efforts to reduce duplicate payments and processing errors, and to streamline approval workflows.
- Gain and maintain working knowledge of the purchase order portal within the ERP system.
- Assist with other AP-related projects as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of the AP and payments portal within an ERP system.
- Basic understanding of 3-way matching (P.O., receipt & invoice).
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer relations skills.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-2+ years of relevant experience in an Accounts Payable or similar position.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Additional education in accounting is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry.
- Occasional standing, walking, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 10-15 pounds, if applicable.
- Visual acuity to view screens and read documents.
