Omnitrans, provider of public mass transit for the San Bernardino Valley in Southern California is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our award-winning team. The ideal Candidate hired will be under general direction, provides custodial services in maintaining Agency buildings and facilities; and performs related duties as required.
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to this position:
- Sweeps and mops rooms, halls and stairways; vacuums rugs and carpets.
- Cleans and washes mirrors, windows, and v window blinds.
- Cleans restrooms and fixtures; restocks supplies as needed.
- Dusts and polishes furniture and counter tops; cleans drinking fountains; lifts or moves furniture as needed.
- Checks are made daily for any emergency cleaning that may be necessary.
- Cleans sidewalks.
- Maintains necessary records.
- Operates power equipment used for custodial work. Cleans equipment after each use.
- Provides vacation and temporary relief as required.
- Cleans areas in the maintenance shop including but not limited to sinks, flat surfaces, vehicle hoists, walls and doors.
- Empties trash from offices, common areas, and outdoor receptacles; changes trash can liners.
- Removes and report all hazards as needed.
- Arranges special meeting room set-ups as needed.
- Checks and maintains inventory of custodial supplies.
- Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and one or more years of experience in commercial custodial work.
Good knowledge of methods and equipment used in custodial work; and safe working practices relating to all assigned job duties. Ability to operate equipment used in custodial work; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and read and understand policies, procedures and Agency regulations.
Candidates will be screened for relevant qualifying experience that consists of an evaluation of education and experience. The most competitively qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include a combination of written, performance, and oral examinations.
