We are seeking a C&I Commercial Loan Officer to develop commercial business, build client relationships, and manage a commercial loan portfolio while identifying growth opportunities and representing the Bank in the community.
Essential Job Functions
Business Development
- Develops new business within the Bank’s market area and builds referral relationships with professional and community partners.
- Promotes Bank lending, deposit, and other financial products and services to attract and retain quality clients.
- Evaluates loan applicants, analyzes financial information, structures and negotiates credit terms, and monitors repayment.
Portfolio Management
- Manages the Commercial loan portfolio, proactively identifying and mitigating risk while ensuring compliance with Bank policies.
- Partners with Credit and Commercial Administration to prepare loan packages, obtain approvals, coordinate closings, and ensure loan conditions are met.
- Maintains accurate credit files and ensures timely collection and analysis of annual financial information.
Customer Focus
- Participates in civic, social and community relations activities to promote and strengthen the image of the bank within the Bank’s footprint and reasonable proximity.
- Maintains a high visibility profile for the bank within the business and professional communities at large.
Requirements
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible Commercial Lending and Commercial Banking experience; Bachelor’s degree in business preferred.
- Formal Commercial Credit and/or Sales training preferred.
- Strong knowledge of credit structure, bank lending policies, credit risk assessment, and risk management.
- Strong organizational, planning, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Demonstrated professionalism and maturity when working with customers, employees, vendors, and Board members.
