Description
This position designs, develops, and optimizes data systems, database solutions, and workflow automation that support the Beaufort County Treasurer's Office through reliable, scalable, and efficient technology solutions. Ensures the integrity, performance, and accessibility of data by developing database systems, ETL processes, reporting solutions, and business intelligence tools while promoting the Office's vision, mission, values, and culture.

Leadership Responsibilities

Relationship Responsibilities
- Serves as the Data Team liaison to County departments, agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Builds collaborative relationships that foster trust, teamwork, and organizational alignment.
- Provides professional guidance and responsive support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Takes ownership of issues and ensures timely follow-through to resolution.
- Anticipates stakeholder needs and delivers solutions that support the Office's mission and strategic objectives.
Task Responsibilities
- Directs the development and maintenance of operational and strategic reports.
- Oversees the design and implementation of dashboards, data visualizations, and performance metrics.
- Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of data across financial systems and reporting platforms.
- Establishes and maintains scalable data management processes and reporting standards.
- Manages Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests related to departmental data.
- Develops and maintains data governance policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Monitors reporting workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and reliable information for decision-making.
General Responsibilities

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field; or eight (8) years of equivalent experience.
- Requires at least five (5) years of experience in database development, ETL processes, or data engineering, with advanced knowledge of SQL, database management, business intelligence, automation, and related technologies necessary to develop, optimize, and support enterprise data solutions.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
