Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior Accounting Compliance Specialist to support our Accounting Compliance team with day-to-day accounting and compliance activities. This role will assist with Accounts Payable, regulatory and state filings, audit requests, compliance tracking, and coordination with external consultants.
The Junior Accounting Compliance Specialist will help ensure financial and compliance records remain accurate, organized, and audit-ready while supporting the team in meeting important reporting and regulatory deadlines.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while building experience across accounting operations, compliance processes, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Process and track vendor invoices and support day-to-day Accounts Payable activities
- Coordinate information and documentation requests from auditors, tax advisors, and other external consultants
- Assist with the preparation and submission of state, regulatory, and other required compliance filings
- Maintain compliance calendars, track upcoming requirements, and help ensure important deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate, complete, organized, and audit-ready accounting and compliance records
- Support accounting and compliance projects, process improvements, and other assigned initiatives
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, compliance, or a related professional environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate and complete records
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders
Desirable Qualities:
- Exposure to Accounts Payable, accounting operations, regulatory compliance, or audit support
- Experience coordinating documentation or information requests with auditors, tax advisors, consultants, or other external partners
- Familiarity with compliance calendars, regulatory filings, or deadline-driven financial processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in improving processes
- Eagerness to learn and develop broader knowledge of accounting operations, compliance, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborative, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
