What you will do

Open Blue AI Platform group is playing a key part in realizing the promise of our digital transformation initiative – Open Blue. This group focuses on technologies like edge computing, ML Model Edification and running ML Model at the edge with constrained resources in the most optimized way. 

Sr Staff UI Engineer position will focus on design and development of new features/components as well as maintenance and stewardship of Open Blue AI Platform. This position requires the ability to work under guidance with a team of engineers to design and develop robust system solutions that meet defined system requirements.

How you will do it

• Good verbal and written communication in English Language with an ability to express and understand complex technical concepts
• Develop software according to functional and technical design specifications.
• Participate in design and code reviews/inspections.
• Provide input to technical discussions; propose solutions and alternatives. Interact with other Sr members of the team to ensure that solution fits with overall architecture.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing code fixes for reported problems and change requests.
• Writing and executing unit tests.
• Developing proof-of-concept prototypes; Providing work estimates
• Aid testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems
• Should have can do attitude and initiative to start and complete the assigned activities.

Information Security Responsibilities 

• Adhere to JCI policies, guidelines and procedures pertaining to the protection of information assets.
• Adhere to JCI product security standards and guidelines for secured software product development.
• The software, licenses, shall be deployed and used only in accordance with JCI licensing agreements.
• Unless provided in the applicable license, notice, or agreement, copyrighted software shall not be duplicated, except for backup and archival purposes.
• Any software that is acquired illegally or does not have a valid license shall not be deployed or used. Copying of third party materials without an appropriate license is prohibited.
• The employees, contractors or third-party personnel shall not copy, extract or reproduce in any way, copyrighted material from the Internet on information systems provided by organization, other than permitted by copyright law.
• Implement appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.
• All employees, contractors and third parties shall be responsible to report all information security incidents, alerts, warnings and suspected vulnerabilities, in a timely manner, and share such information only with authorized personnel.

What we look for

Required

• Qualification — B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Computer Science
• Must have 6–8 years of experience in web application development using HTML, CSS/Sass and JavaScript (ES2022+)
• Must be able to perform in an individual contributor role and must be willing to step up in the role of hands-on technical lead as required
• Experienced with core concepts of JavaScript and JavaScript design patterns
• Experience with a component-based SPA framework at scale — Ember.js strongly preferred; equivalent depth in React or Angular acceptable, with willingness to work in Ember day to day
• Experience integrating a JavaScript SPA with a server-rendered backend
• Experience with front-end build and tooling: ember-cli / Broccoli, Webpack, Babel, Sass, Node.js v20, pnpm
• Experience with unit, integration and browser-based testing: QUnit, qunit-dom, @ember/test-helpers, Testem, headless Chrome; equivalent experience with Jest, Karma, Jasmine considered
• Experience building data-dense operational UIs
• Experience of working with PostgreSQL and Redis, including RedisTimeSeries; exposure to MongoDB or other document stores is a plus
• Experience and knowledge of Git / GitHub, JIRA and Scrum methodology
• Experience of working with globally distributed teams 

Strongly preferred

• Working experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails in production
• Working knowledge of networking and security fundamentals
• Experience with client-side internationalization
• Experience maintaining a shared internal component library consumed by multiple applications
• Experience with dependency and CVE remediation in a JS dependency tree
• Experience with a good understanding of UX design patterns.
