This position is available only to enrolled American University students.

Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. Summary:

As a Personal Trainer, you will be helping members reach their fitness goals through tailored one-on-one and small-group training. You’ll lead by example with top-tier member service, professionalism, and industry knowledge, bringing energy and encouragement to every session.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct personal training sessions, fitness assessments, and health consultations.

• Provide orientation sessions and guidance on proper equipment use.

• Plan and support fitness programs for members.

• Stay current on health and fitness trends, certifications, and program design strategies.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.

• 5 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $24.00 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Current Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization (NASM, ACE, ACSM, etc.).
