Join us in shaping the future of gaming. Are you ready to LEVEL-UP THE GAME?
As Product Owner for Payments, you will own the backlog and product vision for a payment delivery team within our broader payment area, which covers everything from card and digital wallet processing to open banking, alternative payment methods, cashier experience, wallet management, transaction history, and the compliance and AML obligations that surround all of it.
You will join a payment product group that already has strong UX, data and delivery expertise. What you bring is the financial and payment industry grounding that turns infrastructure investment into commercial outcomes, along with the product craft to make complex, regulated systems feel simple for our customers.
The Role
Payments is one of the most strategically critical domains in our business. Every euro that moves, whether deposited, withdrawn, or held in a wallet, passes through systems you will own the product direction for.

What You Will Do
Product Direction and Backlog
- translate business needs, regulatory requirements, and market opportunities into clear Epics and User Stories with meaningful acceptance criteria
- Make tough prioritisation calls across feature delivery, compliance obligations, technical health, and new market or brand launches, and be able to articulate the trade-offs clearly to your stakeholders
- Assess what has been delivered, review outcomes against expectations, and continuously refine the next slice of work.
Working With Your Team
- Work in close partnership with the Technical Engineering Manager (TEM), who is responsible for how the team works, including ways of working, capacity management, and the conditions for delivery. You are accountable for what gets built and why; together you give the team everything it needs to move with confidence.
- Actively participate in team ceremonies, clarify requirements, accept delivered work, and ensure what ships matches what was intended.
- Stay connected to the team's health and pace and adjust scope accordingly.
Stakeholder Management and Alignment
- Act as the primary product voice for your team, responsible for defining what gets built next and why, with the authority and accountability to match.
- Engage stakeholders across Finance, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Engineering; manage expectations and communicate progress with transparency.
- Partner with the Product Engineering Lead to shape the broader payment roadmap, and communicate the longer-term direction so that planning conversations are informed and grounded.
- Represent your domain in cross-team initiatives spanning multiple payment teams, compliance programmes, or brand launches.
Metrics-Driven Decision Making
- Define and track meaningful KPIs for your product area: deposit and withdrawal success rates, cashier conversion, payment method performance, and provider reliability.
- Use data, analytics, and customer feedback to validate that features deliver intended value and change course quickly when they don't.
- Protect long-term product and system health alongside feature throughput. In a regulated payment system, technical health and product health are the same thing.
Customer and Market Understanding
- Bring a genuine understanding of the payment journey from the customer's perspective, from selecting a payment method in the cashier to a withdrawal landing in their bank account.
- Stay informed about developments in payment regulation, scheme rules, and customer expectations across our markets so the roadmap is never caught off guard.
- Work closely with our UX function to ensure the cashier experience across web, mobile web, and native apps is best-in-class for our customers.
How We Work
Our payment teams are cross-functional: backend, frontend, and native developers, testers, and the Product Owner work together in a single team. Everyone is expected to contribute across the team's needs, not just their own specialism.
We work in short cycles, release frequently, and learn from what we ship. The teams own their own releases, monitor their own systems, and manage their own incidents. If something goes wrong in production, the team responds together and the PO is part of understanding what happened and what to do next.
Your Experience:
Essential
- Experience in a regulated financial services or gaming environment. You understand what it means to build products where compliance is non-negotiable and where mistakes have real consequences for customers and the business.
- Minimum 3 years as a Product Owner in a cross-functional agile team, with a proven ability to manage a complex, multi-dependency backlog under real pressure.
- Strong track record of translating regulatory or compliance requirements into clear, actionable product work without losing sight of the customer experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You can present a prioritisation trade-off to a Finance director in the morning and write acceptance criteria with your engineering team in the afternoon.
- Data and evidence drive your decisions. You are comfortable defining KPIs, reading dashboards, and changing your mind when the data says you were wrong.
- A genuine understanding of iterative delivery, not just the ceremonies but the thinking behind them. You know the difference between a team that is busy and a team that is producing value.
Domain Knowledge - Valued, Not Required
We know that strong payment product owners are rare. Domain knowledge is valuable and we will actively look for it, but we will not filter out strong candidates who lack it. Product craft, commercial sharpness, and the ability to learn a complex domain quickly matter more.
Any of the following will help you get up to speed faster:
- Background from a payment service provider, acquirer, card scheme, or merchant payments team.
- Familiarity with how card payments, digital wallets, or open banking work end-to-end, well enough to ask the right questions and spot the risks.
- Experience with payment regulation or compliance-adjacent product work (PSD2, AML, KYC, responsible gambling).
- Experience owning customer-facing transactional journeys such as cashiers, checkout flows, or onboarding with payment components.
- Experience working across multiple markets, brands, or jurisdictions simultaneously.
We believe talent knows no boundaries. Our hiring process focuses solely on your skills, experience, and potential to contribute to our team. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and evaluate each candidate based on merit, regardless of personal characteristics as the age, gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity or disability.
