Description

[What the role is]

You will work closely with MAS senior management and the Board Risk Committee to provide an enterprise-wide view of the key risks and vulnerabilities that could affect MAS' ability to fulfil its mandate. This unique role offers exposure across the full breadth of MAS' responsibilities, spanning central banking, financial supervision, markets and development, and corporate functions.

[What you will be working on]

As part of a small, high-impact team, you will analyse complex issues, challenge conventional thinking, and help shape management decisions on matters that require enterprise-level attention. You will have the opportunity to engage senior stakeholders across the organisation, influence strategic risk discussions, and contribute directly to strengthening MAS' resilience in an increasingly uncertain environment.

  • Monitor developments across MAS and the external environment to identify emerging risks, evolving threats, and cross-cutting vulnerabilities that may affect the organisation's resilience and effectiveness.

  • Develop enterprise-wide risk insights by synthesising diverse information sources and highlighting implications for senior management and the Board Risk Committee.

  • Prepare high-quality risk reports, assessments, and briefing materials that distil complex issues into clear, actionable recommendations and support informed decision-making.

  • Lead the coordination and review of annual operational risk self-assessments and assurance exercises, providing independent challenge on the adequacy of risk management practices and controls across the organisation.

  • Strengthen MAS' enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, and governance processes to ensure they remain robust, forward-looking, and fit for purpose.

  • Analyse operational risk incidents and significant events to identify root causes, systemic themes, and opportunities to strengthen organisational controls and resilience.

  • Support MAS' participation in whole-of-government resilience and crisis preparedness initiatives, including scenario assessments, contingency planning, and resilience reviews.

  • Partner departments and corporate functions to enhance risk awareness, reinforce accountability, and embed a strong and proactive risk culture across MAS.

[What we are looking for]

We seek intellectually curious and highly adaptable individuals who enjoy tackling complex problems and translating ambiguity into practical insights and solutions.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to rapidly develop understanding across a wide range of subject areas.

  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to develop clear, coherent, and persuasive narratives supported by sound analysis.

  • Sound judgement and strategic thinking, with an appreciation of both the broader organisational context and operational realities.

  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to develop recommendations that are proportionate and effective.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and engage senior stakeholders on sensitive matters.

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Experience or familiarity with enterprise risk management, operational risk management, assurance, audit, policy development, or related disciplines would be advantageous.

  • Familiarity with data analytics, dashboards, or risk reporting tools is a plus.

  • Singapore citizenship is required for this role due to the sensitivity to the nature of work involved for this role.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments..

As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment. All applicants will be notified on whether they are shortlisted or not within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
