Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. - Performs assessments and delivers treatment plans per physician or non-physician practitioner orders on individuals with wound care needs in an outpatient setting.
- Evaluates patient response to treatment and the progress of wound healing, making adjustments and modifications to protocols.
- Provides appropriate education to patient, caregiver, family and staff regarding skin care and wound management.
- Discuss patient progress, including discharge needs, with referring physician, provider or facility as needed to determine appropriate follow up care.
- Maintains current knowledge and competency in skin and wound care through periodic in-servicing, seminars, conferences, literature review and attendance at continuing education opportunities.
- Supervises and delegates wound dressings, treatments and testing to wound care tech or other trained personnel, if appropriate.
Job Requirements
Minimum
- Two years of acute care experience
Associate degree of Nursing
- Registered Nurse: AZ (RN:AZ)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (AHA BLS)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Preferred
Bachelor's degree of Nursing
- Wound care experience
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)
- Wound Care Certified (WCC)
