L2 Infrastructure Expert Engineer

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, systems administration, infrastructure operations, or related technical roles.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Broad technical expertise across infrastructure domains, including operating systems, virtualization, networking, storage, databases, Kubernetes, security, and automation.
  • Strong experience with virtualization, private cloud, and infrastructure platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack, or equivalent enterprise technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container platforms, orchestration concepts, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including high availability, backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and performance fundamentals.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, logging, and performance management platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or equivalent solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, capacity planning, performance optimization, and technical diagnostic skills across multiple technology layers.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure security principles, vulnerability management, compliance controls, and risk mitigation practices.

Core Responsibilities

·       Resolve complex infrastructure issues through advanced technical analysis, critical thinking, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

·       Guide and support other teams in resolving complex technical challenges by sharing expertise and infrastructure best practices.

·       Serve as a technical reference for infrastructure engineering best practices, quality standards, and technical approaches.

·       Share knowledge and contribute to the technical development of engineers and less experienced specialists.

·       Provide expert recommendations and technical guidance for the design, implementation, evolution, and optimization of infrastructure solutions.

·       Design and implement scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available infrastructure solutions.

·       Provide technical guidance and actively participate in the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of cloud platforms, Kubernetes, databases, virtualization, networking, storage, and operating systems.

·       Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, database, networking, and application teams to address multidisciplinary technical challenges.

·       Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex incidents and problems involving multiple technology layers.

·       Conduct advanced technical analysis and reverse engineering of platforms, integrations, applications, and legacy systems to understand functionality, identify dependencies, assess risks, uncover operational limitations, and identify improvement opportunities.

·       Contribute to the definition and evolution of infrastructure architectures and technology modernization roadmaps.

·       Assess existing platforms and identify opportunities to improve availability, performance, security, automation, maintainability, and scalability.
