Under general supervision, the FGD Production Team Member insures proper startup, steady state operations and shutdown of the Flue Gas Desulfurization Systems, including but not limited to the Absorber/Reactor Systems, Reactant Preparation Systems, Dewatering Systems and the balance of FGD auxiliary equipment. The FGD Production Team Member inspects, monitors, corrects problems within his/her control, records critical data and maintains a log of operational activities.
The FGD Production Team Member may perform operational, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical maintenance activities and may be required to perform electrical switching and tagging duties as directed. Employees in this classification will be required to complete the FGD Production Team Member training program, perform assigned work and participate in training. The FGD Production Team Member may be required to direct, train and/or assist other employees as assigned.
The FGD Production Team Member shall perform all tasks in a manner that protects him/herself, other personnel and equipment. The FGD Production Team Member shall comply with all permit requirements, policies, procedures and the Cinergy safety manual at all times.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The FGD Production Team Member works in a power plant/industrial environment that includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity. The job requires climbing ladders, entering vessels, and working in hard to reach and high places.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Must meet the Company’s General Qualifications as set forth in the Foreword to the Job Manual.
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
- Normally, three years of experience in Industrial Maintenance or Operations, or the equivalent in job training.
- Must satisfactorily complete the Company’s training program for the job of FGD Production Team Member and pass the promotional examinations associated with each progression step.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license to operate Company vehicles.
