At The Pharmacy Hub, we collaborate with pharmaceutical brands, manufacturers, health brands, telemedicine providers, and healthcare companies to deliver essential products directly to patients. Our expertise allows us to seamlessly distribute pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other healthcare products to consumers, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Hub is looking for a Sterile Pharmacist Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge to run the day-to-day of our sterile compounding operation and lead the team that keeps it accurate, compliant, and on
schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll oversee daily sterile production, supervise pharmacists and technicians, serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge for regulatory purposes, and make sure the operation stays inspection-ready. You're not building the program from scratch — you're running it well, keeping quality high, developing the team, and continuously tightening how things work. You'll report to pharmacy/operations leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Run daily sterile operations: manage the day-to-day compounding workflow — scheduling, staffing, batch planning, and capacity — to meet volume accurately and on time.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge: carry PIC responsibilities for the sterile operation, including regulatory compliance and recordkeeping under Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements.
  • Supervise and develop the team: lead and support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; oversee competency assessments, qualification, and ongoing training.
  • Own compliance day to day: ensure adherence to USP <797> and <800> — garbing, aseptic technique, environmental and personnel monitoring, beyond-use dating, cleaning/disinfection, and hazardous-drug handling.
  • Keep us inspection-ready: maintain continuous inspection readiness, lead internal checks, and prepare for Board of Pharmacy and accreditation inspections.
  • Maintain quality systems: manage deviations, CAPAs, and investigations; keep SOPs current and reflective of actual practice.
  • Track performance: monitor production and quality metrics (batch success, right-first-time, deviation frequency, monitoring excursions) and act on them.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: work with Quality, Compliance, Operations, and Facilities to keep the operation running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy

  • Active pharmacist license in good standing; eligible to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge in Florida (Florida license, or ability to obtain)

  • Sterile compounding experience with supervisory or lead responsibility (typically 5+ years, including team oversight)

Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of USP <797> and <800>; and Board of Pharmacy sterile requirements

  • Experience with environmental monitoring, aseptic processing, and contamination control

  • Experience with SOPs, deviations, and CAPA / quality processes

  • Proven people leadership — supervising, training, and developing pharmacy staff

  • Strong communicator who can balance compliance and productivity

Additional Skills and Competencies

  • 503A and/or 503B / outsourcing-facility experience
  • PIC experience in a sterile operation
  • Regulatory inspection experience (Board of Pharmacy, FDA, accreditation)
  • Experience with electronic batch records and pharmacy/ERP systems
  • Mail-order or high-volume pharmacy background
  • Process-improvement / scalability experience

Technical and Regulatory Environment

  • Cleanroom / ISO-classified environment, primary and secondary engineering controls, HEPA filtration, environmental monitoring, aseptic processing.
  • Standards: USP <797> (Sterile Preparations), USP <800> (Hazardous Drugs), Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements, and DEA requirements where controlled substances are involved.

Cognitive and Physical Demands

  • Cognitive: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to focus during extended shifts.
  • Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods. May require manual handling of medications and equipment as needed.

This role requires flexibility to accommodate pharmacy operations and meet patient demands.
