Description
This can be a messy, active job, but it's incredibly rewarding for the right person. As a Kennel Attendant, you'll play an important role in providing exceptional care to our hospitalized, boarding, and daycare patients while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pets, clients, and our veterinary team.
Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
- Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding animals, including feeding, cleaning, exercising, and monitoring their well-being
- Walk and safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized kennels, cages, patient rooms, and animal care areas
- Assist with bathing, brushing, nail trims, and basic grooming
- Observe animal health and behavior and promptly report any concerns to the veterinary team
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Assist with safely handling animals during examinations and procedures when needed
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatments
- Complete dishes, laundry, and other daily cleaning and sanitation responsibilities
- Supervise one-on-one play sessions with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Provide enrichment, attention, exercise, and socialization to daycare and boarding guests
- Prepare and administer meals and treats according to owner or hospital instructions
- Assist with guest check-in and check-out for boarding and daycare services
- Interact with pet owners and provide friendly, professional customer service
- Maintain hospital laundry and transport laundry between our facilities as needed
- Provide animal care in both indoor and outdoor environments, rain or shine
- Support the veterinary and hospital teams with additional tasks as needed
What You'll Bring:
- Genuine love of animals and commitment to their care and well-being
- Dependable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous animal care experience preferred, but not required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
