Non-ExemptJob Description:
This position is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, and repairs of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment at City-owned facilities.
Examples of Duties:
Perform installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various HVAC equipment including split systems, package units, rooftop units, bay heaters, and mini splits.
Install, maintain, and repair ice machines.
Operate specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline.
Lead maintenance crews at worksites, ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.
Receive, prioritize, and distribute work orders according to division procedures.
Estimate project materials from blueprints and purchase necessary supplies.
Maintain records of all work performed.
Work extended hours during equipment and building shutdowns.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or high school diploma with some additional continuing education through certification program
6 - 10 years of experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Associate degree preferred
Experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems
Valid driver's license
Confined Space Training certification required within 6 months of hire
Respiratory Training certification required within 6 months of hire
Swimming Pool / Spa Certification required within 6 months of hire
Other Necessary Requirements:
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
