Overview
Titan Machinery is looking for a Tax & Fixed Asset Accountant to play a key role in supporting our accounting operations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance, maintaining fixed asset records, and supporting accounting operations across the organization.Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare, file, and remit sales tax returns and other assigned tax filings accurately and on time.
- Manage compliance activities related to sales tax, Federal Excise Tax, Real Estate Tax, Personal Property Tax, and other tax obligations.
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Research and resolve tax-related issues, discrepancies, and adjustments.
- Support tax audits and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Maintain fixed asset records, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
- Create and update fixed asset records, including asset classification, depreciation methods, useful lives, and salvage values.
- Process fixed asset additions, transfers, disposals, and monthly depreciation entries.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting adjustments to support accurate financial statements.
- Team Support & Collaboration
- Serve as a resource for store locations, Shared Resource Center (SRC) team members, and operational departments by providing accounting and tax guidance.
- Assist with process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Business, or related field and/or military experience
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to travel on a limited basis and work flexible hours

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred:
- 4-year degree in Accounting or Business
- Experience in Sales Tax or Fixed Assets
