Cumberland County Guidance Center is seeking a Full-Time Community Support Services (CSS) Assistant Director to join our leadership team in Millville, New Jersey.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Clinical Supervisor, Behavioral Health Manager, or Community Mental Health Leader who is passionate about staff development, community-based services, recovery-oriented care, and improving outcomes for individuals receiving behavioral health treatment.
As the CSS Assistant Director, you'll support program operations, supervise case management staff, provide clinical guidance, and help ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services throughout Cumberland County.

What You'll Do
As the Community Support Services Assistant Director, you'll support the administration and day-to-day operations of community-based behavioral health services while helping individuals receive effective, recovery-oriented support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with oversight and administration of Community Support Services (CSS) programs
- Supervise, support, and mentor case managers and community-based behavioral health staff
- Conduct rehabilitation assessments and assist with service planning activities
- Promote community integration, psychiatric rehabilitation, and recovery-focused care
- Provide field supervision, staff coaching, and clinical support
- Respond to crises and assist with intervention and stabilization efforts as needed
- Ensure compliance with agency policies, DMHAS standards, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor documentation quality, service delivery expectations, and program outcomes
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and leadership coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Services field
- Active New Jersey License:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Minimum two (2) years of behavioral health, mental health, community support services, or case management experience
- Knowledge of community resources, rehabilitation services, behavioral healthcare systems, and social service supports
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with acceptable driving history

- Strong leadership and staff development abilities
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a community-based setting
- Commitment to recovery-oriented and person-centered care
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible 40-hour schedule
- Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
- Ability to provide field-based supervision and community support as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish-English bilingual skills
- Experience in Community Support Services (CSS) programs
- Experience with case management, psychiatric rehabilitation, or community-based behavioral health services
- Experience conducting clinical supervision or staff coaching
- Experience with quality improvement, compliance monitoring, and program development
- Knowledge of DMHAS regulations and community mental health services
