Job Title: Preschool Teacher Assistant at Bardmoor YMCA Preschool Academy

Duties:

• Work alongside Preschool Teachers to provide an enriching experience for children in the classroom.
• Help implement the curriculum in a way that promotes creativity and learning.
• Lead and facilitate interactive activities like games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling to foster children's physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development.
• Support positive behavior by setting clear and consistent rules.
• Supervise meal times, outdoor play, and free play, ensuring the children's safety and well-being.

Requirements:

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Part 1 & 2) is required.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is a plus.
• A team player who works well with others and is able to engage with children both indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
• Available to work Monday through Friday.
• Pre-employment drug test and Level 2 background screening required.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
• Occasional lifting/moving of up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to focus on close vision, distance vision, and depth perception while interacting with children.
• Ability to actively engage in planning, leading, and participating in activities.

Pay & Perks: Part-time, 25 hours per week. $14.75-$20.00/hour, depending on experience. FREE YMCA membership for employee and discount for family.
