Job Description
Job PurposeIntercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and business challenges in the financial sector. ICE team members work across departments and traditional boundaries to innovate and respond to industry demand. A successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism. This role will work across multiple business and technical teams ranging from New York Stock Exchange, ICE Data Services, ICE Futures and Options, and ICE Mortgage Technologies.
This role is part of our global CRM Development team, building on the Salesforce platform that drives prospect-to-cash and service delivery for sales and service teams across ICE's business lines. We run a focused, high-leverage stack — Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Data Cloud — extended with Tableau and TabNext for the analytics our business leaders rely on day to day.
We build AI-first. Agentforce agents live in production, not proof of concept. Data Cloud grounds our automations into clean, unified customer data. And our developers use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Claude Code, SF Vibes, Cursor or Github CoPilot) as a normal part of the workday, alongside deep hands-on Salesforce architecture skill. This role is for someone who wants to work at the leading edge of Salesforce and enterprise AI, with an eager attitude, sharp communication skills, and a genuine passion for shipping AI-powered automation that real internal and external customers depend on.
Responsibilities
- Build with AI as a first-class tool: develop, maintain, and support Salesforce applications using modern best practices, incorporating AI-assisted development (Claude, Claude Code, SF Vibes, Cursor or Github CoPilot) as a standard part of the workflow — not an afterthought bolted on at the end.
- Architect and implement Data Cloud solutions: data ingestion, identity resolution, data model design, calculated insights, and activation of unified profiles for real-time personalization.
- Build, configure, and optimize Agentforce autonomous agents — defining topics, actions, and guardrails — and integrate them with Salesforce data and external APIs.
- Design and deploy generative AI features using Prompt Builder and custom Agentforce actions, grounded in Data Cloud so results hold up in production, not just in a demo.
- Partner directly with Sales and Service stakeholders to translate business requirements into shipped features, managing the full lifecycle from specification through development, QA, UAT, and deployment.
- Bring judgment, not just tools: apply solid Salesforce architecture and platform expertise to evaluate what AI-assisted output gets right, catch what it gets wrong, and know the difference.
- Lead and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions as new Salesforce and AI capabilities roll out across the org and stay current through certifications and Trailhead.
- Document technical decisions and contribute to evolving development standards as the platform and AI tooling mature.
- Take ownership of critical deliverables across ICE's business lines, prioritizing work independently and communicating status proactively to stakeholders.
Knowledge and Experience
Core Salesforce Platform
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or IT preferred), or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years developing on the Salesforce platform, with deep hands-on expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Aura. AI tools accelerate work. We still need developers who understand the architecture underneath, not just the prompts that generate it.
- Strong front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Solid command of Lightning Flows, batch processing, trigger design patterns, and governor limits.
- Experience configuring and developing on Experience Cloud.
- Working knowledge of SDLC practices and modern deployment tooling (Git, Copado, or DevOps Center).
- Certifications: Salesforce Administrator certification is required. Platform Developer I & II are strongly preferred, though equivalent hands-on architecture and Apex experience will be considered in place of formal certification. Additional AI or Data Cloud certifications are a strong plus.
AI & Agentforce
- Hands-on experience building and deploying Agentforce agents — defining topics, actions, and guardrails, and orchestrating multi-agent workflows.
- Experience with Prompt Builder and custom Agentforce actions grounded in Data Cloud.
- Fluent with AI-assisted development: comfortable working alongside tools like Claude, Claude Code, SF Vibes, Cursor or Github CoPilot as part of daily development, and able to speak candidly to both the productivity gains and the real pitfalls of AI-assisted development — we want developers who've embraced AI, not developers who are dependent on it.
- Familiarity with the Einstein Trust Layer and responsible AI guardrails within Salesforce, including data masking and toxicity filters.
- Understanding of Model Builder for integrating external or third-party LLMs into Salesforce workflows.
Data Cloud
- Experience designing Data Cloud data streams, data model objects (DMOs), and identity resolution rulesets.
- Ability to build Calculated Insights and Segments for activation across Sales and Service channels.
- Familiarity with real-time event data ingestion (web/mobile SDK, MuleSoft integration).
- Understanding of Data Cloud's role as the grounding layer for Agentforce and generative AI.
Analytics
- Working familiarity with Tableau and TabNext, used across the org for the reporting and dashboards Sales and Service leadership rely on.
Additional Technical Skills
- Solid foundation in software development, relational databases, and object-oriented concepts.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Experience with MuleSoft or other integration platforms connecting Salesforce to enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with web application architecture (HTTP, Client/Server, REST/SOAP APIs).
- Experience with SQL and database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL).
- Financial industry exposure — capital markets, exchange data, or mortgage technology — is a plus, not a requirement.
- Additional Salesforce certifications: Agentforce Specialist, Data Cloud Consultant, AI Associate, or AI Specialist.
