Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Assistant - Boca Raton, FL.
The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Assistant provides both administrative and instructional support to the ESE Department. This role assists with maintaining confidential student records, coordinating ESE and 504 meetings, preparing reports, and managing documentation related to IEPs and 504 Plans. The ESE Assistant also works directly with students in one-on-one and small group settings to reinforce learning, support testing and assignments, and help students achieve academic success. In addition, the position supports teachers and the ESE team with clerical tasks, prepares instructional materials, and helps maintain a safe and supportive school environment through lunchroom, arrival, and dismissal supervision.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Performs secretarial duties for the ESE Department.
- Prepares and produces reports using student information systems, IEP management systems, and various computer programs.
- Assists in the coordination of ESE and 504 student, parent, and consultant services meetings. Organizes and manages paperwork for 504 plans, Individualized Education Plans, and other ESE student-related information.
- Performs general clerical work in assisting teachers and the ESE team by maintaining student records, preparing and distributing teaching materials.
- Ensures confidentiality of student information and records, filing and maintaining ESE records for individual students.
- Works one-on-one and in small groups with assigned students to support content mastery and to reinforce lessons with students.
- Assists students during testing and with completing tasks and assignments.
- Assists in the lunchroom and provides supervision during arrival and dismissal (AM/PM duty).

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and one year of secretarial experience required.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment required.
Ability to prepare routine reports, correspondence, and documentation with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, teachers, staff, community partners, and vendors required.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, Google Workspace, and other technology tools used for communication, reporting, and record management required.
