What You Will Do

Take your career to the next step as a Manufacturing Engineering Section Manager.  The Section Manager will report to the Operations Execution (XOPs) Engineering Department Manager and will closely collaborate with Operations in support of cable and harness manufacturing.  The position will be located in Andover, MA.


What You Will Learn

  • Providing engineering support for the development and sustainment of production processes, generation and maintenance of Manufacturing Data Packages, tooling development, capital equipment, project execution, and innovation.

  • Planning and scheduling of strategic projects, driving producibility into product designs, and managing tactical support to the manufacturing production floor.  

  • Leading the engineering support team in root cause and corrective action analysis, driving continuous improvement projects, and interfacing with the product value streams.  

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.

  • 2+ Years of Manufacturing leadership experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer

  • Detailed working knowledge of CMES, SAP, PRISM, and PDM

  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Knowledge of cables manufacturing processes including but not limited to: Mechanical terminations, harness fabrication, lacing, and shielding termination

  • Experience with military and industry standards

  • Knowledge of Cables Manufacturing specifications including but not limited to: MIS-20887, 389456, MIL-DTL-38999, IPC-A-620, etc.

  • TDP/MDP Verification Certification

  • Active DoD security clearance

  • Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
