Position Overview:

Our Impact:
As part of Freddie Mac’s Single Family Acquisitions (SFA) organization, Operational Risk Management (ORM) drives consistency, transparency, and effectiveness in nonfinancial risk across multiple domains, including People, Reporting, Transaction and Execution, Information, Technology, Third Party, Operational Resiliency, Model, and Physical Security and Safety Risks. This role will focus on Model risk including Model Development, Implementation, Performance, Use, and Governance risks. The role will also support Artificial Intelligence (AI) risk assessments.
ORM integrates:
Risk and control evaluations across the Single Family Acquisitions Division
Management reporting
Coordination and escalation management
Your Impact:
As a SFA ORM Senior Manager, each workday is unique. Your impact will focus on the following key activities:
Evaluate and report on operational risks, controls, issues, and policies/procedures.
Document operational risks and controls as part of risk and control self-assessments.
Perform governance and oversight over model related issues.
Evaluate operational risk events related to models.
Support the business during Audits, Exams, and Process Design Reviews.
Escalate policy/standard non-compliance and at-risk timelines.
Manage and develop staff.
Evaluate applicability of corporate standards and FHFA directives against process risks and controls
Challenge status quo. Identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes, including reporting and process automation.
Periodically participate in operational risk-related projects that impact the SF Acquisitions division.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5-6 years of operational risk management and/or audit experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Extensive experience with risks and controls with a focus on Model and AI risks and controls
Strong Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Relationship Management skills including influencing others, facilitating meetings, engaging partners, building relationship networks, and resolving conflict
Relevant professional certifications (PMP, CPA, CISA, CIA, etc.) are a plus

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $153,000 - $229,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
