Description

Overview

A wonderful family living on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, reliable, and trustworthy nanny for their 3 children, aged 2, 6, and 8-years. The primary responsibility will be for the care of their youngest child, as their older two children will be in full-time school and after school activities.

The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, and approximately 11am-7pm. The family is very flexible and open to a shorter day for the right fit.

Mom is around part of the day and very supportive. There is also a full-time person responsible for house hold chores, so the candidate will not have all three children in their care at the same time.

The ideal candidate will be loving, proactive and organized.

The position is to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Childcare, including managing sleep, hygiene routines, and preparing the children's meals
  • Collect their youngest child from nursery, give her lunch and lay her down for nap time, then organize activities with her when she wakes up.
  • Work with mom on afternoon school collections with the two older children
  • If available between 5pm and 7pm, supervise older children as they shower and do their homework.
  • Providing an engaging and stimulating environment
  • Keeping children's belongings organized and child-related spaces tidy throughout the day
  • Flexibility to stay later once a week for date nights
  • Occasional travel with the family for short periods of time, if available

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Background in children's education would be a plus
  • Proactive and organized
  • Active and energetic, and able to keep up with a busy toddler
  • Creative and engaging, and enjoys getting down to the child's level
  • Positive, warm, and loving
  • Happy to work with involved parents, and in a team
  • Honest, positive, and a good influence around the children

Requirements

  • US work authorization required
  • Must be passionate about working with children
  • Must be invested in their youngest child’s development and encourage them to reach their milestones
  • CPR/First Aid certified

Salary and Benefits

  • $35 per hour - Flexible
  • Guaranteed 40-hours each week - Family are flexible if candidate wants less hours
  • Metro Card for live-out
  • Two weeks PTO - (There will most likely be more PTO as the family travels a lot throughout the year and they don’t require the nanny to travel with them)
  • 5 sick days
