Position Overview:
Perform short order cook duties. Set up, stock work and clean cook station. Responsible for the daily operations of the hot line and general kitchen cleaning duties. Work as a member of team to provide exemplary customer service. Communicate professionally and respectfully. Maintain an organized, sanitary and safe work space.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of prep or line cook experience.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality required; schedule flexibility determined by business needs.
- Able to follow directions.
- Take responsibility for duties assigned and complete them with accuracy.
- Commitment to quality service.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Must be able speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
- Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills/Aptitudes:
- Able to work in a high-energy and demanding environment.
- Works well under pressure.
- Able to identify and properly address problems with equipment and work environment.
- Able to take direction.
- Able to learn and follow work guidelines based on Health Department, OSHA and ADA regulations.
- Able to learn the proper use and safety requirements of all kitchen equipment.
- Must have or obtain a Food Handler's Card.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of sanitation & cleanliness in areas.
Working Conditions:
- This position will spend 90-100% of the time standing.
- Requires flexibility in a changing environment.
- The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds on occasion.
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, bend, and perform other general duties to fulfill the requirements of the position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed during day and night shifts primarily in residential detox facility. This includes work in facility office as well as the grounds of the entire facility including upstairs resident rooms, clinical office, and laundry room that are accessed via staircase, and outdoor grounds. Technicians periodically drive clients in company vehicles for intakes/discharges at other treatment facilities and transportation hubs, to doctor appointments, to outings and recovery meetings. Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
BLOOD/FLUID EXPOSURE RISK:
Some job tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissue. Staff must wear gloves and follow infectious control procedures when interacting with clients in conditions in which exposure is possible such as handling onsite urinary analysis, conducting first aid, and conducting search of client’s belonging and person. Staff may be exposed to infectious disease, needles, and illicit substances during searches.
Work Schedule:
As a non-exempt hourly employee, the employee shall work a designated schedule as assigned by management. Employee shall not work over 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week without prior authorization from management but if so, will earn overtime for any work performed in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employee must also follow company’s policies regarding required meals and breaks.
