Process Engineer Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Process Engineer Intern will assist the Process Engineering team in developing, documenting, and improving engineering processes, product applications, specifications, quality standards, and operational controls. The intern will support risk-based improvement initiatives, process optimization efforts, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation, engineering specifications, and standard work instructions.
• Support application engineering activities by reviewing product requirements, design criteria, and customer specifications.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and operational consistency.
• Assist with process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Support implementation of process controls and risk mitigation strategies using risk-based methodologies.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to quality and process performance.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Project Teams on continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in process reviews, team meetings, and cross-functional workshops.
• Support development and maintenance of engineering tools, trackers, and performance metrics.
• Any other task as assigned by TAS.

JOB SKILLS:

·         Ability to perform assigned tasks and complete work on schedule with minimal supervision.

·         Eagerness to learn and accept challenges.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

·         AutoCAD or any software design skills are preferable.

·         Ability to understand engineering applications, specifications, and process requirements.

·         Interest in process optimization, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.

·         Familiarity with risk assessment and risk-based decision-making principles.

·         Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, or engineering software is preferred.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

·         Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

·         Comfortable presenting ideas and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

·         Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 50% to 60% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.  Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading.  The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
