The Director, Head of AI Enablement & Automation, HR will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of the Hire-to-Retire digital experience across Johnson & Johnson. This leader will define and execute the HR AI and automation strategy, leveraging emerging technologies to create intuitive, personalized, and efficient workforce experiences. The role combines strategic vision, Solution Design leadership, Implementation and operational excellence to accelerate HR transformation and drive measurable business impact. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how employees, managers, and HR professionals interact with digital solutions at a global scale while leading a high-performing team focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise HR AI Enablement and Automation strategy aligned with Johnson & Johnson's workforce experience vision and business priorities.
- Lead a team responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing AI-driven capabilities and automation opportunities across the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle.
- Partner with HR, Information Technology, Digital Product Managers, and business leaders to design and deliver employee-centric digital experiences that increase productivity, efficiency, and engagement.
- Establish a roadmap for AI-enabled workforce experiences, prioritizing initiatives based on business value, employee impact, and organizational readiness.
- Drive adoption of emerging technologies including generative AI, conversational AI, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, and machine learning solutions within HR services.
- Develop governance frameworks that ensure responsible, ethical, compliant, and secure use of AI across HR processes and platforms.
- Monitor industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve Johnson & Johnson's HR digital capabilities.
- Define and track key performance indicators, value realization metrics, and operational outcomes to measure program success and business impact.
- Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives that simplify HR processes, reduce manual effort, improve service delivery speed, and enhance employee experiences.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, continuous learning, and data-driven decision-making within the HR Digital organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree, MBA, or advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
Experience and Skills
Required
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience leading digital transformation, HR technology, automation, product management, or workforce experience initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise AI, automation, or digital transformation strategies.
- Experience deploying generative AI, conversational AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, robotic process automation (RPA), or related technologies
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing executive stakeholders in a large, complex, global organization.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle journeys, including Hire-to-Retire experiences.
- Proven track record delivering business outcomes through automation, workflow optimization, and technology-enabled process improvements.
- Experience managing digital product roadmaps, prioritization, and value realization.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, change leadership, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred
- Knowledge of HR service delivery models, employee experience platforms, and HR technology ecosystems such as Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Copilot, or similar digital platforms.
- Experience establishing AI governance, risk management, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
- Background in product-led operating models and agile methodologies.
- Experience building analytics-driven decision frameworks and measuring workforce experience outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading global teams and large-scale organizational transformation programs.
- Professional certifications in product management, agile, HR technology, AI, data, or digital transformation disciplines.

- Ability to travel up to 15-20% domestically and internationally as business needs require.
