- Execute light carpentry tasks including repairing and installing doors, locks, door closers, furniture, shelving, and various fixtures throughout commercial facilities
- Troubleshoot and assist with basic building systems maintenance, including carpet and flooring repairs, minor plumbing issues, and general facility upkeep to ensure operational efficiency
- Protect work areas by properly deploying drop cloths, masks, and safety barriers to minimize disruption and maintain cleanliness standards
- Perform routine facility inspections during evening/overnight hours to identify maintenance needs and address issues proactively before they escalate
- Document completed work, materials used, and any observations requiring follow-up using basic computer systems and mobile devices
- Collaborate with property management teams and other maintenance staff to coordinate projects and ensure seamless service delivery during non-business hours
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrated commercial or institutional painting and carpentry experience, or completion of a formal apprenticeship program
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as travel between properties or material pickup may be required
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform overhead work while using ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment for extended periods
- Proven ability to work independently during 2nd and 3rd shifts (Wednesday through Sunday schedule) with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, health regulations, and environmental compliance standards in commercial maintenance settings
- Effective oral and written communication skills with basic computer proficiency for documentation and work order systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in corporate offices, life sciences facilities, or research campuses with strict regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and commercial building codes
- Familiarity with multiple painting techniques including spray application, faux finishing, and specialty coatings
- Basic troubleshooting skills related to HVAC, electrical, or mechanical building systems
