Job Summary

The Smart Moves Coordinator Senior is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transportation, delivery, installation, relocation, recovery, and redistribution of furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials across Corewell Health locations. This position serves as a key resource for move management, asset reuse programs, furniture refurbishment, inventory coordination, decommissioning projects, and transportation operations. The role requires strong customer service, project coordination, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate commercial vehicles and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions

  • Safely transport and deliver medical and non-medical equipment, furniture, supplies, and materials throughout the health system
  • Coordinate furniture moves, equipment relocations, special projects, and transportation activities to ensure operational needs are met
  • Evaluate organizational assets for reuse, redistribution, repurposing, or disposal to support cost containment and sustainability initiatives
  • Clean, prepare, refurbish, assemble, install, and perform minor repairs on reusable furniture and equipment, including office chairs, height-adjustable tables, and other organizational assets
  • Manage and maintain the furniture and equipment reuse application, including inventory updates, item tracking, and customer communications
  • Coordinate inventory control activities including receiving, stocking, tracking, asset recovery, cycle counts, and documentation
  • Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries; identify shortages, damages, or discrepancies and facilitate resolution
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs with department leaders and stakeholders to assess move requirements, furniture needs, decommissioning opportunities, and asset recovery plans
  • Lead and support office relocations, furniture installations, renovations, consolidations, and site decommissioning projects
  • Disassemble and reassemble workstations, office furniture, and equipment as needed to support organizational projects
  • Operate box trucks, cargo vans, Hi-Lo equipment, electric pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment in accordance with departmental and safety standards
  • Assist courier operations and provide transportation support based on operational needs
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance; report repair needs promptly
  • Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, traffic laws, organizational policies, and safety procedures
  • Complete required documentation for deliveries, vehicle inspections, inventory transactions, equipment transfers, and project activities accurately and timely
  • Serve as a departmental resource by assisting with onboarding, training, mentoring, and operational coverage during staff absences
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with facilities, supply chain, transportation, clinical teams, and other customers across the organization

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 20 years of age
  • LIC-Chauffeur License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire
  • LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire
  • LIC-Drivers License - MDOT Medical Physical - STATE_MI Upon Hire
  • 2 years of relevant experience Supply chain/material management

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree
  • CRT-HI-LO Certification
